What do I need to get started?

Two iPhones running iOS 17 or later, Huh? installed through TestFlight on both, and a shared Wi-Fi network or a Personal Hotspot. Connect your preferred audio output to the listening iPhone before you start.

Do both phones need the same Wi-Fi?

They need a shared local connection. That can be your home Wi-Fi or one phone’s Personal Hotspot. Huh? does not connect phones in different locations over the internet. Some public Wi-Fi networks block connections between devices.

Can I use my own headphones?

Huh? plays through the listening iPhone’s selected audio output. Connect your headphones or other audio device in iOS first, then check that sound reaches them. Compatibility and delay vary by device and settings; the beta is a chance to try your specific setup.

Is anyone recording the conversation?

Huh? streams live audio between the two phones and does not save conversation recordings. Everyone nearby should know when a phone is acting as a microphone. TestFlight has separate diagnostics and feedback collection. Read about privacy.

What happens when I pause?

Pause stops playback on the listening phone while keeping the connection. The other phone is told you paused, but its microphone can still be active. In the updated beta, the person speaking can use Mute to stop sending microphone audio independently. Tap Stop to end the audio stream.

Is Huh? available now?

Huh? is in beta for iPhone through Apple’s TestFlight. Availability depends on open tester places and an approved, unexpired build. It is still being developed, and features may change. There is no announced launch price.
